Massachusetts drivers receive dubious honor

Of course, motor vehicle accidents happen every day in the Norfolk and Franklin areas, just as they do anywhere else in the country. However, it appears that car accidents happen a little more often in these and other areas of the state of Massachusetts than they do in other parts of the country.

According to the numbers in the recent Allstate America’s Best Driver Report, the state of Massachusetts did not fair so well in the safety department. That’s because three of the four worst cities in the study were located in Massachusetts. In fact, according to the report, drivers in two of those cities were actually more than two times as likely to be involved in an accident than the national average.

Worchester is the number one overall city in the United States for a person to most likely being in accident. The national average for the amount of time drivers go between having an accident is about once every 10 years. However, in Worchester the average time between collisions is only 4.3 years. Boston is second with an average of 4.4 years and Springfield is fourth with an average of 5.4 years.

Being involved in an accident is never a good thing and unfortunately many times car accidents involve people being injured. If you have been hurt an accident caused by a negligent, reckless or careless driver, then you might be entitled to compensation for your injuries, pain and suffering. If you find yourself in this kind of situation then it might be in your best interest to seek the counsel of an experienced and knowledgeable personal injury lawyer.
